On April 16, a specimen was found on the Egge farm near Murdock, Swift County and brought to Ben Thoma at Willmar. 1990Fall All reports: 8/8 Lake SWIMS, 9/26-27 St. Louis (calling male) SWIMS. Hawk Ridge Banding Station banded a seven year-old 9/23, this ties the longevity record for this species!
1990Winter Record numbers for this season. Noted on the Bloomington CBC; Dundas, Rice 1/10 RG; overwintered in Otter Tail MO and at Isaac Walton Ponds, Hennepin mob. (still present 2/21 DC); Hennepin 12/26 GP, SC; St. Louis 1/7 found dead by SW, MS at T59N, RI7W, Sec. 17, and Twig 2/4, St. Louis, TJ (fide KE); Carver 2/20 RG and Dakota 2/17 AMP. Latter two records on likely early migrants as RG, using tapes, found calling birds on 2/28 in Redwood, Renville, Yellow Medicine and Chippewa.

1994Fall Reported from Becker, St. Louis, Hennepin, and Brown counties; a total of 980 individuals were banded at Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve for the second highest total (1,102 individuals were banded in 1989).
1994Winter Overwintered at Big Willow Park, Hennepin Co. where up to three birds seen, SC, mob. Also reported on the Excelsior, Rochester, and Winona (2) CBCs, plus 1/27 Scott KB, JD, and 2/17–26 Rice TB. There were six reports in the northeast region in St. Louis and Cook counties in February, including one calling by 2/21 St. Louis TW.
1995Spring Reported south 3/9 Hennepin and 5/11 Dakota mob; also reported from six north counties. Unusual were the late February and March reports of 21 migrants or wintering birds in or near Duluth (four found dead in late March) fide KE.
1995Summer Only reports from Koochiching and St. Louis.
1995Fall Record number reported and earlier peak than normal at H.R.N.R.; season total of at least 1,430; also reported from Beltrami, Cook, Otter Tail, Todd, Hennepin and Rice.
1995Winter Number of reports continues to increase. A record 16 individuals reported from ten counties in all regions of the state except the southwest. Overwintering noted in Rice. Most other reports were in December, but there was an increase in north reports in late February.
1996Spring Reported south from Anoka, Dakota, Rice and Washington; north reports from Becker, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, Roseau and St. Louis counties.
